GPA addendum

Post by kekim89 » Mon Dec 19, 2011 8:33 pm

To be honest, I was just lazy; I had no motivation, vision, or goals in my early undergrad years so my grades are less than medicore.
But, I did a lot of volunteering, worked part-time, and internships instead.

I want to be honest and don't want to look like I am making excuses. I've matured through a particular experience
and I have a set vision and career path I want to follow.

How should I approach my addeundum? How long should it be?

Do you really think an addendum is needed? I don't see anything above that would warrant it (excruciating circumstances)

Here's an article that should help.

Also, how far is your GPA from the school's 25%? Did you have any irregularities in your record (e.g. a single really bad semester)?

Don't include one. It doesn't matter what your GPA is....there are schools that accept all types of GPAs....if you make the cutoff, you get in. If you don't, you don't. the admissions staff at NYLS isn't sitting there trying to find a reason everybody has a low GPA, they are just trying to fill a class with anyone in their range.
