Is it bad not to have clear career goals?
I'm working on my Northwestern app, and there's an optional section where it asks what my career goals are immediately after law school/long term. My honest answer is that I'm not sure, and that I don't want to commit to a certain path right away. Would it be bad to say this? Or should I leave it blank/fill it in with some career goals, even if I'm not sure that's what I want to do?

How much can it matter? Northwestern is full of people who had career goals that didn't pan out -- that's why they're in law school!
But seriously, just tell them you aspire to go to medical school or something. That'll teach 'em to put dumb questions on the app!

I would not leave it blank. Answer it to the best of your ability. The majority of people (I would say close to everyone) have a general idea of their career goals but very few can specifically pinpoint exactly what they want to be doing in the near or far future (at least realistically).

No. That's why you are going to law school.
