Just got a job - Resume/Employment History?

Post by Milo42 » Sun Dec 11, 2011 4:07 pm

I just got a job that starts tomorrow (Monday 12/12). I won't be submitting my apps for another week, maybe two.

What should I put in the employment history section of the applications? Should I put the job on my resume?

Thanks in advance!

Sure, why not? As long as you don't mischaracterize it, it seems kosher.

How would I phrase this on my resume? Usually things are in past tense. For example, a bullet point for one of my other involvements was "Helped administrate organization, including preparing materials and information for weekly meetings, organized events, ..."

Should I say something like "Responsible for" or "duties include"?

Yes, use present tense, and for the dates of employment put "December 2011 - Present."
