Re: How much does TFA help?
It may help save you a boatload of application fees (depending on your #s), but I don't think it makes much of a difference in terms of actual admissions (aside from the small boost that having some work experience brings).

Auto admit Yale.
JK, maybe 1 point on the LSAT? It's definitely up there as far as softs go.

I ... really don't think it is. Nothing against TFA but the TFA => law school track is a well-worn one. TFAers just aren't scarce enough among top law school applicants for it to make a big difference.American_in_China wrote:Auto admit Yale.

in terms of softs, its a stronger one...but its still a soft..i would say 1 step below military, 1.5 steps below prestigious fellowships...but on par with prestigious work expierience

+1. I think it's safe to say that TFA won't overcome below-median numbers at most of the T-14, so if you're asking because you're considering TFA for that reason, it probably isn't the program for you. It's a big commitment and a trying experience even for those people who plan to have careers in education. Even if it's only part of your motivation, I don't recommend committing to TFA because it's a "strong soft" any more than I would recommend joining the military for the same reason.IAFG wrote:I ... really don't think it is.
