Is there a GPA approximate for Superior/Above Average etc?
I'm an international student so I got my evaluation of my transcripts from LSAC and they put me at above average. As complimentary as that all sounds I'm don't exactly know what it means. Where does that place me academically? Can anyone offer some insight?

I'm not sure exactly where that places you, but I do know that GPA and its evaluation equivalent aren't really that big of factor for international students because they don't affect the school's numbers as reported to USNews (unless you're UIUC ). LSAT score is a lot more important.danitt wrote:I'm an international student so I got my evaluation of my transcripts from LSAC and they put me at above average. "Above average" probably rules out HYS + Chicago, unless you have exceptional softs.
It might make it a little harder for you to get in to the rest of the top 14, but people have got in to Columbia and NYU before with "above average," as well most or all of the schools ranked 7 - 14.
International students' cycles are unpredictable and generally depend more on LSAT scores than US applicants' cycles, so apply widely.

Also, I see by looking through your previous posts that you are of African descent. That would make your cycle even harder to predict, since almost all the other internationals we know about from past cycles are Asian or White. You might get some kind of URM boost at some schools. The accepted wisdom here is that non-American Africans don't get the same kind of boost as African Americans, but there is such a small amount of data on people in your situation that I doubt anyone really knows.
The short version: definitely apply widely. If you get/have a good enough LSAT score, you should probably try HYS + C.
