CAS/LOR question

Post by leche » Thu Dec 01, 2011 4:21 pm

Apologies in advance if this has been covered already, but I couldn't find a topic that answered this specific question.

I have two professors writing me LORs - one has already been processed, but I'm still waiting on the second one. I'd like to start sending out some applications today/tomorrow. I know for schools that require at least 2 LORs, the application won't go through until both LORs are processed, but what about the schools that don't require any LORs? I really want both to be included. If I apply today to a school that doesn't require any, will the second one automatically be sent after it is processed? Or should I wait for it to be processed?

I made the (admittedly silly) mistake of sending out my apps with one LOR and without asking this question. Before my 2nd LOR was even sent out, I had received an acceptance. Would I have received more money if I had waited for the 2nd one? Who knows.

Anyway, you should send your apps out early, but if you don't want to run into my mistake, then make sure you email admissions and let them know another letter is on the way.

Good idea. So, all I have to do is "assign" the second letter on LSAC and let them know it will be coming soon, correct? LSAC will automatically send it once it's processed?
