ED deadline passed, can I include an essay?

Post by roddy4 » Mon Nov 28, 2011 8:22 pm

I submitted my application to Penn as an ED applicant, however one of my letters of recommendation is not going to be processed in time to meet the deadline. I originally did not write a Why Penn essay, but now that I will no longer be considered for early decision I want to include one to show continuing interest. The application instructions state that all optional essays should be submitted with the application, however it also says on their website that they accept updates and additional information/documents throughout the admissions process. Is it acceptable to send a Why Penn essay as an update to my application? Thanks for your help.

Probably. For ED I think it said you have to move to have all of your materials together by Dec. 1, so hopefully if you email the admissions office you'll get it in there by time.
