My major GPA is several points higher than my regular GPA, how do schools look at this, does it even matter?

It probably won't matter, but at top schools, might be a marginal consideration and may some have effect on how you're perceived as a whole (this can either be good or bad).

This will have no effect. If anything, it draws attention to the fact your grades were lower in the general sorts of classes that relate to law school. The whole reason they normalize GPAs is to counter for the disparity between schools and majors and put everyone on an arbitrary but equal playing field. It's called administratability, you'll learn about it in LS. Because there is no good way to weigh this, they don't weigh it at all.

it shows your grades were lower in classes you were not interested in and were required to take. There are a lot of classes in law school you won't be interested in and many you will be required to take that you won't be interested in. Should be fun.
