Upward GPA trend, when should i apply

Post by john1990 » Fri Oct 28, 2011 3:14 pm

I have a 166/3.28 and i want to get into Fordham/George Washington/ Emory

Over my last 31 credits (junior year) i have a 3.84 GPA
the the 40 credits before than (Sophomore year) i had a 3.68 GPA because of a lone C in Calculus during a 19cr semester

I don't know if this trend will count for much, but I've seen on law school calculator that even a .05 increase in GPA helps. How would you equate a trends value in terms of GPA? Would a GPA of my type compete with a flat 3.4 GPA?

Also, i think i can increase my 3.28 to a 3.33 by the end of the semester, is it worthwhile to hold my applications till January?

Applying at January puts you at a much greater disadvantage than a .05 increase in GPA can counter.

Trend counts for very little.
