Addendum for Five Years Undergrad
I was wondering if I should write an addendum for taking five years to complete my undergrad.
I joined Army ROTC halfway through my junior year. Although possible to finish the program in 1 1/2 years, there was no way to do it with my major, because Aerospace Engineering had a very strict schedule of classes that had to be taken in a certain order and the required classes would have conflicted. Since the Army was paying, there was no reason not to take an extra year to finish both my major and ROTC.
Unfortunately, I don't think that's very apparent from my transcript. I only had to take two engineering classes my second senior year. The rest was filled with things like gymnastics, tap-dancing, and Turkish (which kind of makes it look like I just took five years to have fun).

It was my understanding that engineering degrees took 5 years but I could be wrong. Regardless, I personally wouldn't point it out. I doubt that they'll look at your transcript too thoroughly and by writing an addendum they might take a second look (besides that I don't see what's wrong with taking fun classes). I'm not an expert or anything though so take my advice with a grain of salt

Don't write an addendum. They don't care.
