Can I send opt. essays AFTER I apply?

Post by WhiteGuy5 » Thu Oct 20, 2011 1:41 am

I have some optional essays that I want to write, but I want to submit before Nov. 1st. I plan to finish the optional essay shortly thereafter (a week maybe). Can I/should I submit my application or wait until I do my optional essays?

No, submit it all at once. Really if you put some work into it the essay should take you no longer than a day or two, you can get it done on time.

Either way, you can just email it to them and have it added to your file. The only school I applied to that turned my file around absurdly quickly was Boalt (and Duke I guess, but they had committed to that beforehand). The optional essays aren't going to change your GPA or LSAT score.

Everything should be bundled together. You have almost two weeks to do them..about 288 hours. That's a long time to knock out lengthy essays, let alone the usual one to two page ones they're actually looking for.
