Specific UVA Question

Post by WAREAGLE31 » Sun Oct 16, 2011 9:10 pm

I am in-state resident of Virginia. Looking to see if there is anyone with experience concerning applying from in-state and whether you can expect an appreciable advantage by doing so.

I wasn't an in-state applicant, but based off the website information, UVA aims to reserve about 40% of the spaces (in a class of about 350) for residents. Basically, since in-state applicants represent less than 40% of the applicants and about 40% of the enrolled class, resident applicants do, statistically, have better odds at acceptance than an out-of-state applicant.
