Schools with No Required Recs (Fordham) Forum

Hey Guys,

Quick question. Fordham doesn't require letters of rec (although their site says most people send them). I'm applying to Fordham and have my application ready and currently have one letter of rec on file with LSAC. My other letter will probably be in about 3 weeks from now. Does it make sense for me to just send in the Fordham app now with the one letter, or should I wait and just send it with my others when both are in?

If not, maybe wait. It seems kind of shady to not have at least two.

Wow at least they are honest. LORs dont matter at all. The schools just look at GPA/LSAT and ability to qualify for loans.

Im so annoyed of this shit.

Schools do not just look at LSAT GPA. They look at at least 7 different things, in this order (5-7 are not in order).

0. Celebrity/Family Important Donors
1. LSAT
2. GPA
3. Race
4. Major mistakes in application (including bad lors)
5. WE measured in years
6. Grad Degrees, Major Scholarships, Interesting Careers,
7. Regional/in-state distributions, Alumni Parents, C/F failings

Fordham means it when they say they aren't required. They really aren't and you don't need to send them. If you think yours would significantly help (have real experience with the person ie RAing) then go ahead and get them all in ASAP.

So yeah, go ahead and send the app now unless the last rec is phenomenal.
