# of rec letters

Post by beezy08 » Mon Oct 10, 2011 8:01 pm

It is appropriate to send in apps to my safety schools with one letter of rec? The schools coincidentally don't require any, and only one of my letters is in, so I am still waiting on the other two. I am eager to get the apps in because I am hoping for a good bit of money at these schools and I have been impatiently waiting on recs for a few weeks. I feel like 2 is a very common number, so will I look like a slacker if I send one? The letter is from a professor I had taken several classes with.

Go ahead and initiate sending the apps via LSAC to any school, if you're ready. It won't matter that you only have one LOR - if the school requires more, LSAC will just hold your file until the appropriate number of LORs have been processed, and will actually send the application file then.

When your second LOR is processed, LSAC will send the file to schools that require two LORs. If the third comes later, LSAC will automatically update the file with the appropriate schools. So go for it.
