Hope...
Does anyone else ever have incredibly false hope that something miraculous will happen and completely change how your cycle will go?
I.E. - The admissions dean of X school, your dream school, will suddenly decide that they MUST no longer have their GPA floor and that admitting splitters is clearly the only way to preserve their medians.
I daydream about this and check LSN furiously hoping some evidence of this will appear.
In other words, I'm a little like this guy, Elder Price from the Book of Mormon (the musical, not the actual thing):

Re: Hope...
Wait and see until we have a clearer picture of many people will apply this year. We can infer that from Jun and Oct LSAT data.
2011 applicants were down 10% v. 2010, and schools had to either lower their standards or decrease class sizes. Another 10% drop this cycle and your wishes could turn into reality.
From a financial stand, schools can only decrease their class sizes so much; after that, standards will have to drop.

Re: Hope...
I sometimes dream that my score comes in and it is far better than expected, solving all of my problems.

Re: Hope...
I have honestly had dreams of being at Yale the more than one in the last week.
Edit: Sleeping dreams, not daydreams, but I have those too.

Re: Hope...
I'm hoping some of the T30s I'm targetting will start handing out more $$ to people above the LSAT median so they can stay competitive. Hopefully the lower T14 will take some more splitters to keep their medians up but I think that's a bit of a pipedream.

Would schools not cut back on scholarships and financial aid first?scammedhard wrote:Wait and see until we have a clearer picture of many people will apply this year. We can infer that from Jun and Oct LSAT data.

Re: Hope...
Scholarships and financial aid directly affect decisions to attend; therefore, if scholarships and financial aid are cut, we'd get the same result: smaller class sizes or lower medians.slacker wrote:Would schools not cut back on scholarships and financial aid first?scammedhard wrote:Wait and see until we have a clearer picture of many people will apply this year.
