LSAC . Transcripts Question

Post by ThreeRivers » Fri Oct 07, 2011 10:58 pm

I attended 3 institutions / on Thursday mailed for the transcripts to all be sent to LSAC... somehow I missed the form that is supposed to go with them until right now. Will I have to re-send out / pay again for all of the transcripts or will LSAC match them without the cover letter?

Huh? I have no idea what form you are talking about. Now I'm nervous. Can you elaborate?

I think it's that form you print out with your LSAC number, like the LOR form. But if your transcript is already somehow up without you ever using that form, then I think you're okay. lol

I had to route my transcripts through a national clearinghouse, which means that I wasn't able to attach the form because I had to request the transcript online. When I called LSAC and asked about it, they said the transcripts can still be routed without the form, but it just might take a little bit longer. Mine were uploaded quickly despite the fact that I didn't attach the form, so I bet you're fine.

It's like putting a zip code on a letter. It's primarily for convenience

Yeah I didn't use the sheet either. I had 3 transcripts. And had my institution mail all 3. 2 of them made it in 3 days. Still waiting for one that I sent last week. So all in all you don't need the sheet.

Thanks guys

The part that makes this even worse for me was when I was having the college I currently attend send transcripts she asked for transcripts and I pulled out the LOR form to give the address to her (was dropping it off at professors right after). She tried grabbing it out of my hands to mail and I was like no, this doesn't go with it its for the Letter of Rec just has the address on it. She was just like "O I could have sworn something normally goes with it." I for some reason thought nothing of this other than a secretary trying to steal my LOR form

I think the P.O Box is different for the LOR and transcripts, but I could be wrong. Too lazy to double check right now. Well if worst comes to worst and your transcript isn't processed, the worst thing that can happen is that you will have to fork over the money to have your college send it again.

I called the lady said the department that handles these questions isn't in so to call back on Monday but she's 95% sure my transcripts will still process / it won't be a problem

Well I called today and LSAC told me that they will still process if my SSN is located on the transcripts and to call the schools and ask them.

One told me its on there, another told me its not, and another didn't answer (I left a message).... so having to resend at least one.
