new NW ED program
I just got an email about NW's new $50k/year binding ED program. At first it was tremendously tempting, but then I saw on LSN that people with my numbers regularly received over $100k in scholarships from NW anyway. So I'm leaning towards not doing it. But I'm wondering... does the creation of this new program mean that NW will be less generous with its merit grants?

150k>100k. The ED is actually an awesome deal.

This is not the question you should be asking anyway. Your conundrum really is what is the probability that you get an option superior to $150k scholarship at NU if you don't ED.
HYS - You have a shot at S, depending on your softs. Probably little to no shot at H or Y, unless you are H undergrad or have some amazing softs. My guess is you don't have these since you're considering NU's ED program.
$$ @ CCN - You're not likely to get a Hamilton or Butler at Columbia. NYU's big $ scholarships are generally tied to some specific criteria, so you need to assess whether you fit in one of those categories. Chicago is the big one since it's in the same market as NU and would likely give you some significant $ (like $50-75k), although you're not in the Rubenstein territory.
