GPA/LSAT on Application Resume??

Post by pichu » Thu Oct 06, 2011 1:40 pm

Hi TLS,

Perhaps the search function (and Google) failed me. I have a resume question for law school applications. Should I include my GPA and LSAT on my resume?

If so, should I include my LSAC GPA or "regular" GPA from my school? Both?

I am just unsure of what to do because the admissions officers will see my GPA and LSAT elsewhere. I don't want to be repetitive.

Good luck on your apps :)

I would do whichever GPA is higher, and exclude your LSAT score.

Also, what a nice problem to have..."should I list my GPA as 4.0 or 4.1?". Congrats on the stellar numbers.

Thanks for your opinion, Curious1.

Anyone else have a take on this?

I put my real GPA on my resume. It is also .8 higher than my LSAC GPA.

Is the unanimous opinion ONE GPA and NO LSAT??

Anyone beg to differ?

Please give an explanation. I want my resume to look pretty.

I agree with that. I wouldnt put two gpa's on there (mainly because they'll already see both, so why keep bringing up the lower one?). Personally I did put my LSAT on my resume because it's probably one of my stronger assets. Also, its a resume for law school, so why not?

I would list your institutional GPA (ie the GPA your university gave to you) under your college in the education section. I think you should leave off the LSAT, mostly because I can't think of where you'd put it that it wouldn't be out of place.

You list your school's GPA by your degree, as part of your education description. LSAT scores don't need to be listed, however.

I had the same problem, so I just ended up putting my class rank rather than my GPA, since I figured they would see my GPA elsewhere. But that's just me...

Thanks guys.

It looks like the resume is pretty flexible. I will just put one of my GPAs (LSAC or "normal") and no LSAT.

Let me know if you have a compelling reason to list your LSAT or both GPAs.
