do we have to tell other schools that we're applying?
on some of the apps theres a non-required box that asks what schools we apply to. would this in any way affect decisions? id rather not put it in there, but just wondering if theres any effect

I think it depends on which schools you're applying to/which ones you list as to how much it effects your admissions decision. If you have a high LSAT and GPA and are applying to places like HYS and are likely to get in, some lower ranked schools (I'm thinking American) might deny you just because they think you'll get in somewhere else. This is called yield protecting.
It really just depends. On the whole though, I've never heard of it really making or breaking someone's application.

Doesn't really matter. Simply listing peer schools is fine.
