do LSAT scores have any significance AFTER law school?
hey guys,
just wondering, does LSAT scoring ever have any effect on:
1. jobs hiring after law school
2. any kind of hiring at ANY point in time.
3. anything?!

Maybe if you can't find a real job and you have to resort to tutoring with kaplan. Other than that no.

I lol'd. Will they seriously accept an LSAT score? I wonder if there is time to join before putting in my apps. That will be even more pretentious than Toastmasters.ahduth wrote:Or if you want to join MENSA.Opie wrote:Or if you want to give your friends shit about how much better you did.

What's pretentious about putting toastmasters on your resume, I don't understand.

It's not that pretentious, I've been to some Toastmasters event. It seems that every person I've interviewed with Toastmasters on his or her resume (usually a he for some reason) seem to feel the need to point it out and explain how amazing they are at public speaking. I don't think Toastmasters does that to people or anything. I think it's just the type of person who is like that seeks out Toastmasters.tehrocstar wrote:Yeah Mensa will accept you if you have 95 percentile +, I believe.Opie wrote: I lol'd. Then you should tell them that in your application.sangr wrote:do i have to notify law schools that im taking the LSAT, if i plan on taking it AFTER i apply? and dont want it to count towards the admissions.
Then you should get a life.sangr wrote:What if i just wanna take it for the hell of it?
[Insert obvious ironic comment about megaposter talking about having a life.]

Wait, so you don't have an LSAT score? But you want to apply and have your app judged without an LSAT score?sangr wrote:do i have to notify law schools that im taking the LSAT, if i plan on taking it AFTER i apply? and dont want it to count towards the admissions. Absolutely. Your apps will be on hold at many schools even when you ask them not to hold them. I did this, and suspect it was largely responsible for my underwhelming cycle.sangr wrote:no. i have taken the LSAT and have applied. but im thinking about taking the LSAT for the hell of it. im saying will doing this impact anything such as admissions, etc.

I've been dinged from firms after telling them my LSAT score. Even after my pretty good 1L grades.

Re: do LSAT scores have any significance AFTER law school?
This would not matter, except for being a waste of time. I did it because I thought I had squandered a 180, but I already had a good enough score. So for me it was a personal thing. I wish I hadn't though. It's a complete waste of time to take the test for any reason but to improve your chances at $$$ or admission imo.sangr wrote:k then what about after i am ADMITTED to a school?

Did they specifically ask for your score? I have never heard of a firm doing this...Grizz wrote:I've been dinged from firms after telling them my LSAT score. Even after my pretty good 1L grades.

I've been dinged at firms after sneezing in the hallway before my screener. Just hold it in, bro.Grizz wrote:I've been dinged from firms after telling them my LSAT score. Even after my pretty good 1L grades.
