Re-Apply to previously accepted school with same LORs + PS?
Last cycle I was accepted into several schools.
I was laid off from work several months ago, and when August came around, I no longer could afford to move, etc.
Question: Can I use the same LORs and PS that I used last cycle?
I'd think the obvious answer would be "no-they'll see it and be pissed." However, with so many applicants and I'm imagining most LORs and PS are similiar, do you really think they'll remember mine?
Also, I was accepted last cycle, so it's not like my PS and LORs didn't work, right?
Thoughts?

Call the school and ask them what to do.
I can't understand what you mean by "I no longer could afford to move." Not that its on topic.

I'm using the same Lor's but a vastly edited/touched up PS. I think it's ok to use the same LOR's from a year ago as it can be harder once you're out of school and if you're only a year or two out then it's still relevant IMO. Especially if you haven't had a lot of WE or enrolled in a new school etc..
I wouldn't use the exact same ps however. Some schools throw away your old application but many keep in on file for a year or more so they might not like seeing the same PS/think you are being lazy. Try to work in what you've been doing recently or just make your essay a better version of a previous one.

Re: Re-Apply to previously accepted school with same LORs + PS?
I got rejected to my top school on my first cycle. I applied again the following year with:
1) new, higher LSAT
2) new PS
3) 1 new LOR, 2 same ones
4) applied ED within a few weeks of the app opening
I got accepted. The school recommended that I get a new PS and new LORs if I wanted to apply again.

Some of these things seem more important than others.shock259 wrote:

Losing my job 3 months out forced me to use my savings to live. I was going to use my savings to month, apartment, etc.admisionquestion wrote:Call the school and ask them what to do.

I would not, not, not use the same PS. They are going to pull out your file from last year, and see you used the exactly same essay---and I doubt that will get you any points.
