Hi everyone and thanks in advance for answering.
I've had several instances in the past where, either for memberhsip into a campus club or as a requirement for a class, I've had to complete x amount of service hours at a particular charity.
Is it standard practice to list something like this as "volunteering/service at X" on your resume or not?
The hang up I have with it is that it wasn't exactly volunteering.
thanks again for responses

Presumably this is for your resume.
Just header it "activities." The presumption on most people's part will be that you were volunteering.

Why would it matter if it was voluntary or not? Experience is experience.

Maybe he was forced to clean deer poop off the highways, and does not want to express on his resume that it was something he wanted to do voluntarily... or, rather - that he begged for the chance to clean up deer poop.Opie wrote:Why would it matter if it was voluntary or not?
