Stanford targeted recommendation

Post by UCLAorbust » Fri Sep 02, 2011 4:49 pm

I read on the Stanford TLS page that they look highly on targeted letters that ask the recommender to rate additional criteria, but I can't for the life of me find either on LSAC or Stanford's website how I do this (I assumed it would be a school-specific form that I send to the recommenders before they send the letter to LSAC, but I have found nothing). Anyone know/have a link where I can find out more about this?

Ya, last year there was a Form C that recommenders sent in with the letter rating you in different areas, such as maturity and intellect. This year, they got rid of the form, so don't worry about it. Just have your recommenders write a specific letter to Stanford.

you mean, the recommender should incorporate my desire to go to stanford within the letter itself?

Yes exactly. He or she should say why you are a good match for Stanford law. That is the definition of a targeted letter.
