Retake in October and apply earlier or Retake in December

Post by houng89 » Wed Aug 31, 2011 5:48 pm

Good afternoon to all you law school junkies. This forums has been already so helpful to me but here is a question pertaining to my particular situation. My current scores are 159->167->oct registration. I have a 3.64 GPA, I am hoping to break t20. I am debating whether to take the test in october or december. Of course I want to take the test as early as possible. But to get to the 170 range idk if I am ready right now b/c I am practicing low 170s but i was practicing low 170s when I obtained my 167. I think I just end up testing badly. So any advice? I understand how great of an advantage it is to reach the 170s but I was wondering if by waiting until late December to obtaining/submitting my app would the cost outweigh the benefit or vice versa. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance.

If you think December will substantially increase your chances of getting a 170+ I would take it in December.

You can always reapply if things don't go as planned and if you do that you might also be able to retake a 4th time (assuming that it is over 2 years from your first test which it may or may not be).
