Should I take fluff courses to boost my gpa?
Im taking another year off after earning myBA degree in 2010. I am retaking my 163 lsat score in october, but my gpa will bring me down regardless of my score. Can I take more undergraduate courses at the local school to boost my gpa, or not because.my degree has been granted? My husband is offering to support me financially for the entire year so I have the resources to take the time.

Nothing counts after your first BA confers. If you've graduated, it's too late. Otherwise, everyone would do it.Barbie wrote:Why not? What if I added another bachelors degree?Blessedassurance wrote:They won't count...

I think once you graduate, if you start school again then you only get credit for a certain amount of courses you've taken (say 30 credits - if they're generous). If you need 120 for a bachelors, then it's gonna be a lot more than one year that you're taking off....
I would start by asking the specific school you're thinking about getting the degree at about their credit policies once you've graduated. If this was while you're in school, you could've added as many Bachelors as you wanted to boost the GPA but it changes once you're out.

It still wouldn't matter. LSAC only counts credits towards the first degree.brose wrote:I think once you graduate, if you start school again then you only get credit for a certain amount of courses you've taken (say 30 credits - if they're generous). Generally something that is a low-level general elective and less "academic." Phys Ed classes like Bowling are classic fluff.CaliforniaGurl wrote:this is off-topic, but how do people define "fluff course"?

Anything easy that will boost your GPA. I guess it could vary by school to school. At my UG University, Education courses were pretty good ones.CaliforniaGurl wrote:this is off-topic, but how do people define "fluff course"?
