ED NYU need/merit aid advice

Post by $1.99 » Sat Aug 06, 2011 3:30 am

Hello,

I am trying to decide if I should ED to NYU. If i applied with a 171/168/169/3.89 RD how much aid should i expect if i get in if we assume i come from the lower income brackets? my main concern is i can't tell how much i will miss out on if i get in ED as opposed to RD. Thank you so much.

Doesn't NYU not have need aid?

Except for certain named scholarships, essentially no schools other than HYS have need-based aid.

It's very possible a 171/3.89 will get you merit scholarship in the lower T-14, but you won't have a shot at money at nyu with three LSAT scores and an ED. It's basically common sense: why incentivize someone that is already bound to your school?

And yes, outside of hys, need aid doesnt exist.

I'm in the same boat, and don't expect to get any $$ even though I desperately need it. The current logic as someone else said is that if you apply ED they have you by the cojones and since you're bound to them they have no reason to give you aid. That being said, I think you can apply for named scholarships based on race/ethnicity/merit.

EDIT: also keep in mind that with a 3.5/170 I got a pittance from Cornell and 0$ from all of the other T-14 schools I got into

Hmmm, in one thread you listed one of your retakes as a 161, and in another you claimed to have been admitted ED to Columbia this past cycle. In a third thread, you admit to being a troll.

Stop wasting forum space with your worthless fucking threads.
