1.) No never say you were lazy, ever, they will see it on your Resume, don't tell them you had so much to do and that is why you couldn't do well, law school is not a walk in the park, if you want to emphasize how you did well when you had a lot to do then do so, but do is discreetly.
2.) A 360 turn would mean you came back to the same point, it was a 180 degree turn. FTFY

1) Totally, I wasn't going to write that I was lazy... don't want to mention my freshmen GPA at all but I just wanted to see if you guys thought it'd be a good idea to emphasis the fact that I pulled a 3.9 GPA while engaged in all those extracurriculars during my senior year through a GPA addendum.

2) Haha! Sorry 180. :)

Absolutely not, especially after they will be reading PS and DS and otther GPA addendums where there were real trials to overcome. At best it would do nothing. When law schools have their pick of applicants, especially as some people are leaving the work force to go to law school, you want to stay away from anything that makes you sound the least bit immature.

That makes a lot of sense. I won't be writing one then. Thanks!

I wrote one that implied I was lazy but only because the schools asked for it (I was put on academic probation for low grades on semester). I actually had a somewhat legit excuse - a friend died in a freak accident - but I didn't think that was being entirely honest and seemed unnecessary.

I basically wrote, "I lacked the maturity and foresight to blah blah blah. Since then, I have blah blah blah." It was a two or three sentence addendum.

The whole reason for an addendum is to explain why your low GPA *wasn't* because of laziness.

My addendum wouldn't be the typical "excuse" my low GPA addendum but instead a "please don't overlook my capability evidenced by my senior year 3.9+ GPA and an absurd amount of ECs/tough course-load all at the same time" type addendum. It would be 2 or 3 sentences, max. Worth it?

Your transcript and resume will hopefully demonstrate that — an addendum runs the risk of seeming redundant, especially since there will be a ton of applicants who can also boast a ton of extra curricular activities, good grades and no addendum.

I'm convinced to not include an addendum. Thanks for everyone's input.

Are extracurriculars really only worth an addendum?

Is it even worth my time, or will they appear somewhere else on the application?

the bid about the 360 was very funny.
