Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
Right! I mean, they were on my Top 10 until I started getting waivers from decent schools and decided I'm only applying to schools that are waived or schools that I really want to go to (Columbia, for example). But if they gave me a waiver I'd pay the report fee.ashley12 wrote:I've been waiting on UConn as well and have been disappointed not to get one because I probably wont pay to apply there since they arent in my top ten.JoeMo wrote:I can't believe you got UConn. I've gotten all of those, minus Penn and plus Duke, since the Oct release. Columbia, Mich and NYU were hidden, though.thelawschoolproject wrote:Yeags wrote:So far I've collected:

Not a word from Duke though.

This is a really stupid question, but how do we find out if we have hidden fee waivers?

I don't think Oct test takers have heard from Uchicago....hopefully we do soon. I read somewhere that Cornell and Berkeley don't give merit bassed waivers but i could be very wrong. Hopefully we hear from Chicago and (maybe) Cornell soon.

Feeling a bit disappointed - already had waivers from Mich., Duke, UVA, and Northwestern; received one from Georgetown yesterday. But I haven't gotten anything from UT, Columbia, or NYU with a 175. Shucks.

Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
I know how you feel. I've gotten waivers from some top schools (UVA, Columbia, NW), but I don't really have any interest in them. Meanwhile, the ones I'm interested in (Michigan, Georgetown, Berkeley) I haven't gotten anything from. Ah well...euskadi wrote:Feeling a bit disappointed - already had waivers from Mich., Duke, UVA, and Northwestern; received one from Georgetown yesterday. Berkeley is a no. If you want to go you must $. Cornell, I've seen that they do on TLS.Justdoingmybest wrote:Take Two wrote:Any one get anything from Chicago or Cornell post October test? oh or Berkeley do they even give merit waivers?

Case Western isn't technically a waiver. They're free for all.schertz2 wrote:Oct. 2011 Test, 4.02 LSDAS UGPA

Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
I've gotten waivers from all T-14 except these three and HYS... NYU and Penn were the only ones that were hidden for me. Berkeley and HYS don't give them out, right? So that leaves Cornell and Chicago.Take Two wrote:Any one get anything from Chicago or Cornell post October test? oh or Berkeley do they even give merit waivers?

Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
So far I've gotten Northwestern, WUSTL, Columbia, UCLA, UVA, and William and Mary after my 175 in Oct via an email telling me they were waived. I also got emails waivers from Iowa, Wake, and Alabama after my 167 in June. I've gotten a ton more overall but I've only been keeping track of the ones from T50s.
Are these emails telling me my fee is waived for fees that are considered "hidden"? It still shows that I have a fee to pay before I checkout (like it looks in the hidden fee thread). Or are hidden fees ones you get from schools that you were applying to anyway (without knowledge of the waiver) then find out at checkout that the fee is waived?
If that's the case it seems really irrational. Why would they give you a fee waiver once you've already demonstrated that you're willing to pay the app fee? On the other hand, by getting the CRS emails, I'll be applying to a few schools I hadn't really considered, and by accepting me (if they do) that school gets to count my numbers towards their medians. I thought that was the whole point of fee waivers? Or am I missing something?
