Comment about job opps

Post by nygiants56 » Wed Jun 29, 2011 4:49 pm

Obviously with the overwhelming sentiment in this forum about working for "big law", with the current economic situation why is the realm of opening a real estate, wills, divorce, etc practice not discussed?

1. you don't make enough money to pay off your loans
2. a lot of ppl are attracted to the prestige of a V10 etc. which you don't get from working at a mom and pop shop
3. supposedly better training at biglaw firms (although I'm still not sold on this)

Oh yeah, it's a fucking cakewalk to just open up your own practice. I'm sure the vast majority of people who try this don't fail or anything like that.

Yeah, you're . . . supposed to . . . put spaces between the periods . . . in law school.
