First post, hello everyone my name is Wes and just took the June LSAT at Penn State.
This site is awesome, tons of great tips...been lurking here the last month or so reading up.
My question is about Letters of Recommendation. I have 2 professors and an internship supervisor who would be willing to write LOR, but I wasn't sure when the right time to start the process was.
I have maintained contact with the prospective recommenders and know they will be busy come August and September. My plan is to get everything squared away before the start of the fall semester in terms of LOR, but I am worried about general vs specific letters.
Would it be wise to request general letters now when I know the professors will have more time to write a LOR or wait until applications open up on LSAC and see which schools want specific targeted letters?

Most would recommend applying as early as possible in the application process. With that said, if you can contact them before the fall semester, you should. Getting them in early is one less thing to worry about. Good luck.

Is it set in stone if you have a general letter sent to LSAC. Let's say I have 3 letters sent in, but I find out once applications open up that I need a different style letter crafted towards a particular school with its own form or questions. Would it be easy for the recommender to send in an updated letter or answers to a particular school's LOR form later, that is my only concern.

You can name each LOR (ie. Dr. Phillips LOR, Dr. Phillips Michigan LOR) but a form must be sent in with each.
