What would happen if Georgetown left T14?
What if Georgetown lost its 14th spot and became 15. Would the previous 15 that becomes 14 then gain the prestige of a T14? Would rankings be shaken up forever?
I'm just wondering because it seems somewhat suspicious that the top 14 schools haven't changed in the past couple years.

USNews didn't make the T14 elite, they already were.Helicio wrote:What if Georgetown lost its 14th spot and became 15. Would the previous 15 that becomes 14 then gain the prestige of a T14? Would rankings be shaken up forever?

If it were to face a long term fall Gtown might lose prestige, but it'd be a slow process. But even then, it's the number one school it's city, a major market. People are going to flock there even if it was on par with UCLA, which it already arguably is.
The only people who really care about USNews are Deans (Because it helps with Alumni fundraising) and potential students.
Think of it this way, USnews is an attempt to measure the prestige of a school, it doesn't assign the prestige.
IMO: Georgetown has WAY too many students. If it cut down to Umich or Uva's size it could cement itself.

It'd probably have to fall out and stay out of the T14 for several years to actually lose "prestige"...just like how no one is taking UT's #14 ranking seriously yet.

Another possible response: it's 19,000,000 law students would be mad.

The Top 14 would then be referred to as the Top 15.

I don't normally say things about people's grammar. But using "it's" instead of "its" has to be the most retarded mistake ever.tyro wrote:Are you the grammar guru bot that ppl were talking about?futurelawstudent1 wrote:It is 19,000,000 law students would be mad?bjsesq wrote:Another possible response: it's 19,000,000 law students would be mad.

I could explain why the it's vs its mistake is actually one of the least retarded mistakes ever. I could explain that your post embodies some of the more negative and rampant stereotypes about law students. I could point out the many ways in which bjsesq is an objectively better person than you. But it's easier to just call you a shitbrain and foe you so my brain is protected from the poison that is your attempt at showing your own intelligence.futurelawstudent1 wrote:I don't normally say things about people's grammar.
