not really. they just put more weight on difficulty of UG major so if you look at their LSN graphs it appears to be a black box.

Yes really, there are plenty of people who got 175+/3.8+ who've been flat-out rejected (not even WL) regardless of major. I have a friend who had a 177+/3.9+ with an engineering UG background who wrote all four pages of his PS-limit for Cal and still got directly dinged.
