GPA Addendum?

Post by bardreams » Wed May 25, 2011 7:20 pm

Freshman year GPA - 3.25 (29 Credits)
Soph year - 4.0 (30 credits)
Junior Year - 3.6 (30 credits)

Cumulative GPA - 3.62

Addendum needed for freshmen year?

No. It's not that low, and it's not that far off from your cumulative.

I think it might not be a terrible idea, if there was valid reason why your grades were not up to par. A short and simple explanation might give the adcomms a better picture of you as an applicant while simultaneously keeping them from assuming the worse.

You won't need one.

Not unless you have a really good story about why your grades were low that reflects positively on your character.

A love affairs with keg stands doesn't count. Even if you hold the school record.

Maybe write one if you had a death in the family or something, but if the addendum is going to say "It took me a semester to get accustomed to college; once I did it was all downhill" don't bother. That's everyone's situation.
