School withdrew file, but......
If a school withdrawals your file, does that mean it is definitely the end of the line with you and said school? My top choice for LS just sent me an e-mail stating that they withdrew my application, however, I had been in constant contact with their admissions Dean about a possible scholarship increase. I explained to him that I could not put down a $1000 deposit without a guarantee of a possible raise and we ended it at that. Do schools every go back through files or contact people over the summer that may have withdrawn to try to get them to rethink their decision?

I doubt that they will beg you to come back if they weren't even willing to up your scholarship

My thought process it maybe they will if people start to withdrawal.

I think you need to call the school directly.

Like i said, I doubt it. Stranger things have happened though. Maybe you'll get lucky.Northeast wrote:hipstermafia wrote:I doubt that they will beg you to come back if they weren't even willing to up your scholarship

Did the dean not respond to you when you said you couldn't put a seat deposit down without a scholarship increase? They just withdrew your app?

Sounds like you gave them an ultimatum, and they took you up on it.Northeast wrote:If a school withdrawals your file, does that mean it is definitely the end of the line with you and said school? I don't think that's what happened... it's that the deposit deadline passed, and OP didn't make a deposit.alexanderhamilton wrote:*Note to self, no ultimatums to law schools*

Right, but after being in "constant contact" and telling them he wouldn't deposit unless they gave him money.glitter178 wrote:I don't think that's what happened... it's that the deposit deadline passed, and OP didn't make a deposit.alexanderhamilton wrote:*Note to self, no ultimatums to law schools*

Re: School withdrew file, but......
Earlier posts suggest OP had per year offers of $40,000 from Indiana, $30,000 from Wake Forest & $20,000 from top choice Notre Dame. Probably gave an ultimatum to Notre Dame during which time the deposit deadline passed. Unfortunately, OP misunderstood Notre Dame's ultimatum of pay $1,000 now or lose forfeit your acceptance. Apparently, both ultimatums were realized.

Does this mean that the NDvWF thread is now purely an academic exercise and that OP is stuck going to North Carolina?

Same thing happened to me except I had a full ride and all I wanted was for them to email me their 2010 numbers. They gave me the run around and then withdrew my file about 10 days after the seat deposit deadline.
I guess their employment is that bleak right now...
