It's a crappy April Fools joke, demonstrative of a Michael Scott-like sense of humor. The moment where Michael tells Pam she's not really fired is not so different from the moment where they admit this was a horrible joke gone awry. Nobody will laugh, and those that pretend to laugh will be doing so out of pity. Mostly, the lounge will be dominated by an air of awkward. It will be painful to see these people we've all come to know admit that they took part in something so weak. It was called out on the first page of that epic lounge thread as being a joke. That they kept it going is sad. I'll weep for them.
