If it was gun to my head have to choose one or the other, and I was cool with living in that part of NY (I guess I would be if the only other option was death), I'd go Albany for cheaper, and enjoy what there is to enjoy in and around Albany New York.

If you REALLY REALLY have to go this year (which I doubt) or you have a job lined up after school that pays well, then Albany at half price.

Also, FWIW isn't Albany higher in the pecking order than Syracuse for jobs in upstate NY (other than the ones in the city of Syracuse)?

Plus, isn't Albany's in state-tuition a lot cheaper than SU's?

If both of these factors are true (but am unsure about) are true, then SU better give you a full ride in order to trump Albany's half-tuition offer, right?

Just realized that you were only 19. Definitely take some time off and do something fun or something that you like doing or something you'll never be able to do again (like backpacking it around somewhere awesome, or whatever floats your boat). Fuck law school at 19. But that's just me. Definitely make sure that you won't have regrets going to law school this young.

Dude 19?? I'm 22 and sometimes I think I'm too young for law school. I was a completely different person at that age. It's cliche, but I've matured so much...which is not to say that I'm mature now--I barely feel mature enough to graduate high school, much less college...

Lolz me too. But then again, I don't feel mature enough because I am short and just started to grow facial hair three years ago. :D

If you're only 19, take at least 2 years to gain some working experience, enjoy your youth, and retake when you're better prepared.

Albany is a private law school without an undergrad. People confuse it with SUNY Albany all the time. According to TLS:

"Tuition is over $39,000 a year; however, grant aid is available -- the median grant provided is $18,000. Despite the school's financial aid initiatives, the average 2009 graduate who took loans graduated with $120,722 of debt."

The only advantage to Albany is $60,000 less debt. Btw, Albany is far worse at jobs (unless you want to work in NYS gov't).

Coming from a New Yorker, I can tell you that with the current budget slashing, these jobs are gone.

+1

NY-er here as well. And they are not coming back anytime soon, either.
