Oh its absolutely T13 now. Texas dilutes the "sanctity" of that 14 spot. Though one can argue that GTown diluted that spot on its own.

Much like we will tell our children of a time when there were VHS tapes, we will now tell tales of a time when something called the T14 existed.

Change comes slowly, but it comes nonetheless.

Georgetown has no one to blame but itself for its demise.

I think this thread just shows how wise Desert Fox is. He has been advocating t13 for a while now.

I've been saying it for years: this is America, dammit, and we group things in fives. T15.

Also, see Thomas's dissent in Grutter v. Bollinger... he says there is a T15.

As I said in another thread --

Just so we're clear (as some of you have apparently forgotten), the "T14" refers to those schools that have placed, at one time or another, in the top 10. Texas has not become "a T14 school;" tonight's rankings have not ADDED anything to this grouping.

Now, what the tie between UT and GULC means for GULC is a different story . . .

I really don't think so. T14 USED to mean that but not anymore (see Texas).

Yeah, but you were wrong then and you're wrong now.

It means the top 14 schools; your version is revisionist history by GULCers who saw that the end was near.

Look at Wikipedia. Or, feel free to link to an authoritative (non-message board) source to contradict the plain meaning of the term.

The anti-GULC contingent of TLS will keep the T14 distinction so that Texas' inclusion is a constant reminder of Georgetowns' fall from grace. Or they will use this to finally ignore GULC and make it T13.

And why do you have such venom for Gtown? You've posted in like 4 other threads and you're acting like this is Christmas day that Georgetown shares its spot with another school. Really weird to have that much pent up rage about a school.

He goes to GeorgeTTTown. I'm predicting mass ritual suicides for the next few days there.

I actually like GULC.

But dude, we're both here on TLS. This (USNWR ranks) is literally like one of the 4 topics of discussion we go off of here. The GULC/UT tie is indisputably one of the "stories" of this year's rankings.

As for the "T1x" thing, only really young lawyers have heard of it anyway: http://leiterlawschool.typepad.com/leit ... owels.html

If your contention is that I'm a loser for being here and should be cool enough to not post on TLS, then you may have a point. In my defense, I'm bored?

Here's a fun game!

In the wikipedia article that you guys are referencing, the following quote appears:
wikipedia wrote:There exist common characteristics across these top schools. Reputation is a key driver of their placement, according to Anna Ivey, noted law school admissions counselor, who declared, "A degree from a top-14 school will be portable nationally" in a Washington Post interview. Nonetheless, there are schools outside of the top 14 whose graduates predominantly place nationally rather than locally.[21]
First guess which law school could be the non T14 national law school, then click citation 21.
