Mistakes on a school specific essay
So I was looking at a transmitted essay to a school and noticed a couple minor mistakes. No I did not accidentally use the name of a different school. I'm talking small mistakes. I wouldn't be worrying about them if I was a strong consider at the school, but I am a borderline applicant so I want to make sure everything is spic and span. Is it worth sending in a corrected version of the essay to them or is it better not to call attention to it?

They will probably notice the errors.

What type of responses are you looking for? You only say you made "small mistakes". TLSers aren't psychic. If you want real advice you have to at least give a comparable mistake or something.FAR262 wrote:So I was looking at a transmitted essay to a school and noticed a couple minor mistakes. Send in another "updated" copy. They dont have time to compare the two so they wont notice exactly what you changed, probably wont even know you swapped anything out because the secretaries handle all that stuff. Good luck

Like using the same adjective twice in a sentence. Nothing major, just trying to cross my ts and dot my is so I don't give the school a reason to waitlist me. And thanks HowdyYall, that's the type of feedback I was looking for.DubPoker wrote:What type of responses are you looking for? You only say you made "small mistakes". TLSers aren't psychic. Ok, "mistakes" means you made a grammatical or spelling error (e.g. a comma splice). What you're describing is poor form. IMO you should update in case of a major, very noticeable error or several minor errors. Certainly not for writing that simply could have been better.FAR262 wrote:Like using the same adjective twice in a sentence.
