I can't comment on the joint program, but I would warn you that some of the Kennedy school classes have a reputation for being less than rigorous. I've been to a few of them (I did my undergraduate degree at Harvard), and my experience has been consistent with that. (Obviously, I haven't been to every class at the Kennedy School, and it's possible that there are rigorous, academically demanding ones as well.)

That having been said, it's quite a happening place: they always have interesting speakers around, and their fellow program attracts just retired/between-job politicians who have lots of time on their hands.

I don't know what your goals are, but if I were you, I'd be sure to visit and sit in on some classes if you're seriously considering going. It might be exactly what you're looking for, and it also might not be.
