Waive Seat Deposit? Forum

Has anyone ever heard of a school waiving a seat deposit? I'm retaking in June but would like to hold on to a spot at a school that has offered me a large scholarship in case I receive a similar score (in which case I'd rather start school this year than next year). However, wasting $1,500 dollars on a seat deposit in the event that I do score better is not very appealing to me. Any ideas? Should I send out an e-mail asking to waive the seat deposit or is this uncouth?

I think the only way to get a seat deposit waived is to be able to demonstrate legitimate financial need. HTH
