So much for working hard, and great LSAT and GPA.

A person exists with a JD from a reputable institution who is also currently unemployed?

The hell you say.

At most schools you only need a 2.0 to graduate. Sometimes a 1.667. Simply having a JD doesn't mean much. Outside HYS if you barely met the minimum standard to graduate your ass is grass, in any economy.

The curve, maybe you've heard of it?

Enough of these "enter law school at your own risk." We get it.

well, if he got a biglaw 2L summer internship, it seems unlikely that he was pulling a 2.0

more likely that he's a complete douche

What's your point? Most curves are loose enough to allow for a particularly strong class (very few, if any, C's) or for outlying weak students (more C's, sometimes D's and F's). Especially at the stronger, more reputable schools, people recognize the fact that students there are generally driven and smart. Therefore, the curve is loose enough to be skewed right, if the quality of the student population's work warrants it.

In response to the biglaw internship, he could have had good grades leading into OCI and then tanked becausehe thought he was golden?

The point is, we don't know the whole story by a country mile.

Normally, I don't take the side of the sky-is-falling types, nor do I think that a single data point says much, but offer rates have fallen a LOT. So he could be a complete douche, or just unfortunate, or a combination of the two.

This is the exact same story you already shared in another thread, you don't need to keep starting new threads to share things you already shared.

OP gets a timeout and warning for trolling. Folks who want to discuss this stuff can go do it in one of the many threads already in progress about how much the economy sucks and nobody's gonna get jobs.
