2 dings, one admit...kind of freaking out
Stats: 163/3.0/might be considered URM (I check Mexican and White for races)
I have over 4 years WE in global security non profits, my application was heavy international law/PI focus.
Got dinged at Northwestern (dream school) and University of Illinois, accepted into American.
When I got the ding at Illinois this morning, I started freaking out that I'm not going to get accepted anywhere else and that I should start applying to lower-ranked schools. My list is below - should I apply to more? Is it too late? Do I have a shot at any other schools listed below? The ones I really want are BC, BU or U of Wisconsin...
Boston College
Boston University
Columbia University
Cornell University
GW
Georgtown
Indiana Bloomingtno
Loyola Chicago
Marquette
NYU
Penn State
U of Chicago
U of Denver
U of Maryland
U of Minn
Notre Dame
U of VA
De Paul
U of Colorado
Wash U
U of Wisconsin

You've applied to plenty of schools already. Don't worry too much after hearing back from 2 schools, you've applied to a wide range and some of them will accept you -- you'll just have to wait a bit longer for a response.

+1. while i wouldn't hold out too much hope for the T12, you're sure to land at some of the others on your list. just try to be patient.cinephile wrote:You've applied to plenty of schools already. Northwestern was a substantial reach & Illinois is trying to move into the Top 20 of the USNews rankings by offering scholarship money to applicants above their current LSAT median.
With respect to your remaining schools, Columbia is an unrealistic reach (in my opinion based on your numbers) while Cornell and Georgetown are longshots. Otherwise you should receive multiple acceptances.

use lsacs score index for each school as wellacrossthelake wrote:lawschoolpredictor.com

Anything any of us tell you will be based off of that. Also, no way 163/3.0 could have gotten into Northwestern unless URM boost was strong.
