OCU (OK City) law school open house - Jan 20-21

Post by DamnLSAT » Fri Jan 14, 2011 12:32 am

Anyone on TLS going to this?

I know it's a reach to say the least since it's a TTTT and probably never mentioned on this site, but I live in OK City and figured it wouldn't hurt to go. Hell, they are putting us in a hotel for two nights for free.

On a related note - Kevin Durant is a god.

At least there's another soul that's going to be there.

Thought about it, but honestly it would be too mean to eat their food and take their money while having no intention of ever attending. That said whats up with 35% or so who come out of OCU loaded w/ debt yet fail to pass the bar? Talk about waste of money.

Pace the bar?
inorite?

Anyways, while it may not be the best school in the region, it is one of two schools in the south to offer full tuition, books, and living stipends. Plus the were nice enough to make the trip free--including hotel and travel expenses! I think it is worth at least visiting.

Spend the extra money and look elsewhere. The students who attend are all pretty nice, but a majority of the faculty are draconian in their approach even for a 4th tier. Examples, some professors will have you stand the entire class if you are " on call" , other profs require that you hand write exams, some professors forbid computers in class. I have heard there was even a certain conlaw prof that would not allow students back into the class if they left to use the bathroom. Also forced 2.333 curve. If it is a choice between ocu and not attending law school, then make lemonade, but if that is not the case, think very carefully about your decision.
