Applications are in... Will all schools e-mail me?
I've begun to receive e-mails from a few of the schools that I applied to with a username/password to check the status of my application. In doing so, I am finding out whether or not my apps are considered complete or incomplete.
Most of the schools haven't sent me any e-mails yet with this information. Is that because they simply haven't looked at my file yet? Or should I be trying to contact them? I submitted most of my apps Friday and some this weekend.

Most will send a link to check your status within a week or so of applying. The schools SHOULD contact you if something is missing. Keep checking the status checker. I've heard back from schools in a week turn-around period, and some are still pending from October. I'd check lawschoolnumbers.com to see how your school(s) are at timing.

Thanks. As for checking the status checker, LSAC's isn't telling me anything really, which is why I'm eager to hear from the schools and use their status checker which is seemingly much more informative. I worry that one of my apps will be incomplete and I will have no way of knowing.txadv11 wrote:Most will send a link to check your status within a week or so of applying. Schools will contact you with any information you should need once your application is received and then completed.Bless wrote:Thanks. After you apply using LSAC.org, you don't really need to use that site again. I think 20 out of 21 schools I applied to sent me an email (most within one week) with the link for a status checker. LSAC doesn't seem to be affiliated with the process after your application is submitted, it is up to the school. If you have a doubt about a specific school, give them a call and ask.
Also, on the incomplete thing, most of the applications went complete sometime within a week of getting the status checker email. So let's say within a max of two weeks you should have a username, and when you log in, you should see it complete and or under review.

The school-specific threads on TLS are another great way to get an idea of each school's timeline.

This. There are in fact certain schools out there though (albeit very few: e.g. GWU and UCLA) that don't give status checkers, so don't be worried if you applied to these schools and don't get anything besides a "complete" email.txadv11 wrote:Most will send a link to check your status within a week or so of applying.
