Applicant Trackers & Admissions Predictors?

Post by SHarry3666 » Sun Dec 26, 2010 8:46 pm

What are the best/most reliable websites for tracking other applicants and determining law school admissions odds?

two things: (1) users who regularly visit/update information about acceptances/rejections/wait lists and provide accurate data about themselves; (2) sites that provide an accurate prediction based on numerical scores and/or other data (like URM status). I assume that both these things almost impossible to calculate, but I'd like to get a general "gut reaction" about the reliable vs. unreliable sites that are out there -- discussing the strengths/weaknesses of each. Thanks.

There are several, and each has its own strengths. We list them on our Resources page. Chiashu is good for their graphs of acceptance timing in the cycle, although they show them based on the 12 month calendar, so you have to adjust accordingly. LSP is based on the self-selecting data from LSN. LSAC's admission predictor is based on data reported from the schools, so it is more reliable; but several schools, including seven of the T14, have declined to participate. One interesting aspect of the LSAC predictor is it confirms that yield protect is a very real phenomenon for certain schools.
