Feb retake?

Post by pbutta123 » Wed Dec 22, 2010 3:27 pm

I have a 3.5 (3.76) GPA 165/160 and applied to:
Fordham, BC, BU, Hastings, GW & UW.
I just got waitlisted today at Fordham, so i'm super scared that this precedent will be met by the rest.
Should I do the Feb LSAT if I can score 170+?
If I do, will that bring me off the waitlist at Fordham?

If you can do a 170+ you should take the June LSAT so you have sufficient time to prepare and apply early next cycle.

February historically has the most generous curve. I'd say do it, but don't expect 170+.

If you can score a 170+, then retake as soon as practical.

With a 3.5 GPA, a 170 will be worth much less applying on 1st March than 1st August. You only have one more shot, so take your time with prep - don't sit your final test in haste.

My understanding was that the OP had already applied to his/her targeted law schools & wanted advice as to whether or not retaking in February for a higher LSAT score would enable him/her to get off of the waitlist. So my answers to the OP's questions are: "yes" & "yes". Additionally a score of 170 or higher may also result in scholarship money for you.

I know im just freakin out....
Imma wait until I get some more responses back from schools in January.I think you're right albanach; If the future looks grim I'll take my time studying until all I can think is in terms of LSATs & take the June 2011. Hopefully, one of them has mercy on my soul this cycle though.
Thanks for the responses TSLers!
