Any general tips on writing a "Why X"?

Post by jd20132013 » Sun Dec 12, 2010 9:38 am

I searched for "Writing a Why X" and "Why X" and no suitable matches were found, which is weird. I'm sure there have been multiple topics on this before so if someone points me to one of those that'd be helpful as well.

I know it needs to demonstrate that you took the time to do research on the school, but what types of facts should I be trying to include, etc?

A "Why X" essay should be 1 page double-spaced, and therefore will be relatively short. You should choose one theme and stick to it. What are your goals in life, and why can this law school help you achieve it? Which programs/clinics/professors etc. catch your interest that you believe will further your goals?
