Should LORs be in big or small envelopes?

Post by gtrwanka » Wed Dec 08, 2010 2:54 am

I have to drop off my forms and envelopes for my professor tomorrow. Does LSAC want it in a large folder un-folded or do they not care about it being in thirds in a regular mail envelope?

Have those you asked fax them. They'll be processed quicker.

No envelope... Private courier, like the ones on the bikes...

To be honest i was going to make my professors mail and fax them in. Regardless thanks for the info. What exactly does LSAC do with them? Just retype them into the system or do they scan it in?

LSAC scans it into your file.

I work at in admissions office of a community college. Retyping anything that is recevied in large quantities would be impossible. Not to mention the lulz that would ensue when a funny typo slips through the quality control procedures. They are most definitely scanned in. Although I faxed my letters in, I can understand why LSAC changed their policy on receiving faxed LORs. A faxed document + scanned in can make it difficult to read... especially if the letter is in a small type to begin with.
