Calculating UGPA

Post by Zooey » Wed Dec 08, 2010 12:12 am

Will the LSAC calculate an UGPA if the BA is not going to be completed until 06/11? If yes, how so?

Do schools need an UGPA to be calculated before accepting an application, or are they satisfied with just the transcripts, albeit incomplete.

They calculate them based on the credits you've completed. Meaning that if you're a senior in a college with a semester system, 6 semesters (plus and summer, winter, or abroad credits you've taken) will be factored in. Some schools will ask you to update your transcript with your fall grades, or at the end of the year. However, I've heard that some schools can be a little sketchy and ask admits to update their transcript if their GPA drops. Of course, this is all hearsay.

You just send your incomplete transcript to LSAC and they generate a GPA for you.
