Get my B.S. now?
So I currently have a 3.5x and am worried that, after this semester it will be down to a 3.5(x-(2 or 3)).
Here's my thought. I'm triple majoring and already have degree requirements for one of my majors met as of last spring, so I could technically get a B.S. already. So, what if I applied for that degree now, before Fall '10 grades? If I do that, won't my LSAC GPA cut off at Spring '10? That way, I could finish my other 2 majors by Spring '11, but not worry about dropping down a few hundredths of a point.
Is this logical/possible? Experience?
I know a few hundredths isn't HUGE, but my GPA is just around 25th or median for a few hopeful schools, so going from, say, a 3.59 to a 3.56 may hurt.

Bump?
I didn't realize this was such an unanswerable question. Or irrelevant...

Um... since you would be awarded your degree this month... wouldn't it count your fall grades?
Also, why would you triple major?

If you are sure its going to go down a few pts... then it sounds like your course of action would be the best. Unless you could negate and possibly raise with the spring grades?chip3341 wrote:Bump?

It's possible, although spring will be potentially difficult as well. I guess I'm also wondering if it's possible? If I just get my 1st B.S. now, LSAC stops calculating my GPA?

Yes... at the end of the semester you are awarded your degree. If, for some reason, you could get it awarded next week your GPA from this semester will still be added in.chip3341 wrote:It's possible, although spring will be potentially difficult as well. Oh really? Even if I technically had the reqs completed last spring? If that's the case, then oh well.

That's right, they go by degree conferral date, and the next one is likely in January after fall grades are posted.chip3341 wrote:Oh really? Even if I technically had the reqs completed last spring? If that's the case, then oh well.

Oh ok thanks. Should have considered this sooner. Oh well! At least I know now.
